ASCA invites applications for the 2026 Timothy Welsh Fellows Program

The ASCA Timothy Welsh Fellows Program is accepting applications for the 2026 class focused on facility access in U.S. swimming; the application deadline is May 20, 2026.

Applications are open for the ASCA Timothy Welsh Fellows Program for the 2026 class. In its 24th year, the board-run Fellowship selects coaches for a year of research, education, and career exposure. This year’s project focuses on facility access and how programs manage limited, aging, or inaccessible pools. Selected fellows will contribute to a national case study and resource development aimed at practical strategies for constrained facilities. Program details: - Application deadline: May 20, 2026. - Fellows announced: July 8, 2026. - Program duration: August 2026–August 2027. - Required in-person participation: ASCA World Clinic, Sept 8–11, 2026 (Orlando, FL). - 2026 project focus: facility access, including case studies of competitively successful programs operating with limited or aging pools. - Eligibility highlights: active coaches or program leaders with at least five years of coaching experience, completed education (not current students), U.S.-based during the Fellowship year, and ASCA membership in good standing. Summary: The Fellowship aims to identify strategies that help sustain swim programs and support drowning-prevention efforts amid shrinking pool access. Fellows will collaborate on applied research and a curated resource connecting coaches with facility experts. Fellows will be announced July 8, 2026, and the program runs August 2026–August 2027.
