Exhibits and details:
- University of Dayton INDEX Gallery: "missing mo(u)rnings" by Ashley Jude Jonas runs through April 10 at The Hub (31 S. Main). The assemblages combine photographs, porcelain ceramics, collected ephemera and found objects; one display references memento mori and invites stillness and reflection. Hours: Monday–Thursday 8 a.m.–6:30 p.m., Friday 8 a.m.–5 p.m.
- Edward A. Dixon Gallery: Nature Photography of Bro. John Lemker runs through April 12 at 222 N. St Clair St. Lemker, a Marianist who studied physics, began serious nature photography after geology travel in 1970 and framed his images as aids to scientific study and contemplative reflection. Hours: noon–5 p.m. Thursday, Saturday and Sunday; (listed Friday hours in original notice).
- Dayton Art Institute: "Tony Foster, Exploring Time: A Painter's Perspective" on view through May 17. Foster’s watercolors document changing landscapes, cycles of life, and human marks on the environment. The institute will partner with The Neon for a screening of the documentary "Tony Foster: Painting at the Edge" on April 15 at 7:30 p.m.; tickets reported as $12.50 and DAI members were noted to receive free popcorn when showing membership.
- Dayton Society of Artists: Work by Tipp City photographer Edd McGatha, the result of a picture-a-day project, was listed through April 3 at 48 High Street. The project captured many images of Tipp City, Dayton and New York; gallery hours noted as noon–5 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays or by appointment.
- Stivers School for the Arts (Fifth Street Gallery): Annual photography fundraiser is scheduled for April 17, 6–9 p.m., at 1313 E. 5th St. The program collects roughly 150–200 donated prints, including contributions from well-known photographers and a range of portrait and nature photography; a preview of donated work was reported available on Instagram at @stivers_photo_auction.
