Rovy, a 24-year-old Lipizzan–Andalusian–Thoroughbred cross, has moved from dressage arenas to the easel and now paints as part of performances. His owner, Sandra Beauliau, fits brushes with rope and tape and dips them in paint before Rovy holds them and paints for applause and treats. This weekend Beauliau and Rovy will perform in Monticello at the Have Heart for Horses Gala. The event is the 11th annual gala organized to raise funds for Triple R Horse Rescue.
