Safeguard Palm Beach Community Clean Out is scheduled for March 6 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the parking lot of St. Edwards Parish Hall. The Palm Beach Police and Fire Foundation is sponsoring the event and members of the Palm Beach Police Department and Fire-Rescue will assist. The event offers secure document shredding, data wiping and recycling of electronics, and disposal of batteries and medications. It follows a December event that included demonstrations and family activities and is described as part of efforts to reduce identity theft, which was reported to rise 9% nationwide last year and to be highest in Florida.
