Homes plan for former Halifax brewery site lodged

An outline application has been submitted to Calderdale Council to build 30 homes on the former Fountain Head Brewery site in Wheatley, with access proposed from Maltings Road and six homes expected to be affordable.

An outline planning application has been submitted to Calderdale Council to build 30 homes on a vacant site in Wheatley, Halifax. The land on Maltings Road was once home to the Fountain Head Brewery, which closed in 1996. Parts of the wider site are already developed with housing, a nursery, a school, a community centre and a college, but the application area remains vacant. The application was lodged by Begbies Traynor on behalf of Southdale Ltd and is supported by a statement from property consultants JLL.
