Local authorities collaborate to strengthen fostering in East Midlands.

Four East Midlands councils have created the Foster for East Midlands Councils (FFEMC) hub to streamline recruitment and support for foster carers, and since March 2024 the programme has handled more than 600 enquiries and processed applications.

Four councils in the East Midlands have formed a joint Foster for East Midlands Councils (FFEMC) hub to increase local fostering capacity and to keep children close to their communities. The hub brings together recruitment, training and ongoing professional support for foster carers. The programme began in March 2024 and is presented as a regional effort across Derby City, Derbyshire County, Nottingham City and Nottinghamshire County.
